Mădălin Blidaru is a specialist in Political Sciences, Economics, and International Relations. With a doctorate degree centered on researching the external relations of the European Union, he furthered his competencies through practical and professional experiences in policy area and in international affairs, including at the Ministry of Environment of Romania, the European Commission, the central bank of Romania, as well as in non-governmental, private structures. After the initial background in International Relations and European Studies, he earned the master’s degree in Diplomacy and International Negotiations, and the master’s degree in Labour Studies, European Mobility Programme in Labour Studies, continuing subsequently with professional practice in these areas. Other than external relations, foreign policy, and cooperation, among his interests there are policy- and decision-making processes, in addition to regional studies, economics, sustainable development and good governance.
Option 2
A specialist in International Relations and European Studies, Mădălin Blidaru obtained a doctorate (PhD) at the National University of Political Studies and Public Administration (SNSPA) in Bucharest, Romania, as a result of the research on the external relations of the European Union (EU). Complementary, he earned his master’s degree in Diplomacy and International Negotiations, and his master’s degree in Labour Studies, European Mobility Programme in Labour Studies. Besides external relations, foreign policy, and cooperation, among his research interests there are interregional relations, European institutions, EU policy- and decision-making processes, regional studies. In addition to his researcher experience, his professional experience includes project management and policy analysis. Most recently, he was International Relations Specialist at the central bank of Romania, focused on analysis of and briefing on international and global economic and financial developments, thematic research, and relations with institutional investors and credit rating agencies, among other activities. Previously, he was a Blue Book Trainee of the European Commission in the area of structural reform support – in particular related to governance, public administration, anticorruption, rule of law, and justice, and, before, European Affairs Advisor for the Romanian Ministry of Environment, during the Romanian Presidency of the Council of the European Union – in this position he coordinated, prepared, and chaired the relevant technical working arrangement of the Council of the European Union, and participated in multilateral negotiations. These have built on the fond memories of the previous participation in cooperation formats at youth level.
